The Book of the Great Journey — the second shortest Parva. The five Pandavas and Draupadi, having installed Parikshit as king, don bark-cloth garments and begin the great northward journey toward the Himalayas and Svarga. A dog follows them throughout. One by one — Draupadi, Sahadeva, Nakula, Arjuna, Bhima — each falls as their pride is named. Only Yudhishthira and the dog continue.
ಮಹಾಪ್ರಸ್ಥಾನದ ಗ್ರಂಥ — ಎರಡನೆಯ ಅತಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪರ್ವ. ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿತನಿಗೆ ಪಟ್ಟಕಟ್ಟಿದ ಪಂಚಪಾಂಡವರು ಮತ್ತು ದ್ರೌಪದಿ ನಾರುಬಟ್ಟೆ ಧರಿಸಿ ಹಿಮಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವರ್ಗದತ್ತ ಉತ್ತರಾಭಿಮುಖ ಪಯಣ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದು. ಒಂದು ನಾಯಿ ಜೊತೆಗಿತ್ತು. ದ್ರೌಪದಿ, ಸಹದೇವ, ನಕುಲ, ಅರ್ಜುನ, ಭೀಮ — ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಹಂಕಾರದ ಕಾರಣ ಬಿದ್ದದ್ದು.
