Book XVI of 18 · 9 sections · 320 verses

The Book of the Clubs. 36 years after Kurukshetra. Samba (Krishna's son) through a prank incurs the curse of sages — an iron club grows from his womb. The club is pounded to dust and scattered in the sea; grass grows from it. At Prabhasa, the Yadavas drink and quarrel, killing each other with these grass reeds. Krishna watches with equanimity. Balarama departs into meditative death. A hunter's arrow kills Krishna. Arjuna comes and escorts survivors — but finds his powers diminished. Dwarka is submerged.
